Bremen, February 4, 2016. The deputy prime minister and economics minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Etienne Schneider, commenced his two-day stay in Bremen with a visit to space technology company OHB.
He was welcomed by Marco Fuchs, the CEO of OHB SE, and Martin Günther, the senator of economics, labor and ports of the City of Bremen, among others. In talks with the Management Board and staff and during a guided tour of the Company, Schneider was updated on OHB’s current and future space programs.
The purpose of the visit was to expand business and scientific relations. The OHB Group has been active in Luxembourg since 2005 via its own subsidiary Luxspace. “Today’s talks also addressed the Luxembourg space initiative “spaceressources.lu“ for the exploration and utilization of space resources. Obviously, we would like to contribute our ideas and experience in this field,” said OHB CEO Marco Fuchs.
Among other things, OHB is currently working on a design study for an asteroid impact & deflection mission for the European Space Agency ESA.
The visit by deputy prime minister and minister of economics Schneider and its 30-strong delegation marks a return visit after a business delegation from Bremen traveled to Luxembourg last year.
