Bremen/Oberpfaffenhofen, 26. August 2022. Space technology company OHB SE and investment-company AFK Enterprise AG today formed a joint venture to invest in new, environmentally friendly technologies for aviation. AFK Enterprise AG and OHB SE will become shareholders. The purpose and objective of the joint venture OHB AFK Deutsche Aircraft Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH is to hold an equity interest in Deutsche Aircraft GmbH.
Deutsche Aircraft GmbH, based in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, is developing a new, environmentally friendly version of the Do 328 short-haul passenger aircraft, the Do328eco. In a second step, a new generation of aircraft with advanced, climate-neutral propulsion using hydrogen is to be developed. The Do 328 is the last commercial aircraft to be developed and built entirely by a German company.
The goal of the investment company is to open up new markets in this future-oriented field of aviation and to generate new investments. In addition, the company will promote joint projects in selected export markets.
In addition to representatives of the founding companies, the company's supervisory board will also include Klaus Eberhardt, former CEO of Rheinmetall AG, as an expert.
