Second Galileo launch in 2024: Galileo navigation satellites from OHB launched into space

Bremen/Florida, September 18, 2024 - For the second time this year, two OHB Galileo FOC (Full Operational Capability) satellites have been successfully launched. This increases the number of Galileo satellites in space made by OHB from 26 to 28. On behalf of the European Commission, the European Space Agency (ESA) has awarded various contracts for a total of 34 first-generation satellites to OHB System AG as prime contractor. There are currently still six completed navigation satellites on Earth awaiting their journey into space. Galileo will not only provide Europe with its own satellite navigation system, but also with first-class service and high performance.
